1985 –1990 Journalist and then sub-editor for Plymouth Evening Herald free paper – Plymouth Extra,

1990 to 1999 Preparation of International symposia and conference material whilst working in the Riyadh Military Hospital in Saudi Arabia as well as preparation of public information material both printed and broadcast through my own locally aired TV programme.

Interview of medical and para medical staff for hospital positions and instruction in interview techniques for medical staff involved in patient based research projects and in employing departmental staff. Also worked in Dubai in the same role, recruiting staff for work in UAE hospitals and instructing in interview techniques for hosptial staffing.

From 1999

Many published short stories, Peoples friend and My weekly etc. Articles published in many magazines on various topics, including travel and travel health, the countryside, animal health and workplace health and safety.

Commissioned to write regular monthly columns for Park and Holiday (Warner’s Group) on a different health topic each month e.g. IBS, Chiropractic, NHS waiting lists and post code lottery treatment, dental dilemmas, colds and flu, SAD etc.

Six weekly broadcast for Kick FM radio on health matters

Co-ordination of television, radio, magazine and newspaper coverage of Pritikin Longevity Centre in Miami and set up of www.you-can-too.org web site to promote Pritikin and to support all those trying to live a healthier life style, in particular diabetics.

2006 ongoing
Monthly column for The Courier (Royal Mail in-house magazine) interviewing a company employee with a specific medical problem (work related or otherwise) with in depth information on the subject and comment from the Royal Mail medical team.

Regular contributions to Vitality Matters a health magazine distributed in Cornwall.

2007
Contributor to Women’s Health Today a National Association of Primary Care Trusts (NAPC) publication produced by Sovereign Publications and distributed to all GP surgeries quarterly for female patients nationwide, from an approx 125,000 print run.

Children’s book about a boy detective. Creation and reading of fictional material to be downloaded onto pre recorded MP3’s for Shortalk.com.

Advising US filmmaker MICHAEL MOORE on various aspects of health care in the UK and other aspects of life in the UK for his new film ‘Sicko’ as well as how we in the UK perceive our standard of living and our NHS.

Appearances in the Mail on Sunday and other press sources in connection with the Richard and Judy scandal Feb 2007, having instigated this enquiry 2 years ago. Also appearance on Panorama and various radio interviews and contributions.

Trip to Poland to review health tourism options there in dentistry, plastic surgery, ophthalmology and fertility.

Strengths

I feel that my strength as a researcher helps enormously in respect to the writing projects I undertake. I am meticulous in my research, a talented interviewer and sub editor, and have very broad and comprehensive current affairs knowledge. I am a sympathetic and persuasive interviewer as well as an inspired writer of both fiction and non-fiction with a sense of humour, who has never missed a deadline!
